Rain Barrel Workshop
The Bradley Beach Environmental Commission, in partnership with the Surfrider Foundation, and the Water Resources Program at Rutgers University, will offer a rain barrel workshop on Thursday, June 7, at 7:30 pm in the Biase Center, 719 Main St, Bradley Beach. Come and learn about the water-saving, money-saving, and environmental benefits of rain barrels. Learn how to set one up and use it, keeping your garden watered at no cost, and mitigating the effects of heavy rainfall on our infrastructure. Purchases can be made at either the Third Avenue or Cliff Avenue Booths starting 5/18/12 and weekdays through 6/13/12 10am to 2pm weather permitting. Board and Committee Openings
There currently exist openings on the following boards and commission within the town. If you are interested in serving your town on one of the following boards or commissions, please send a letter to Mayor Schreck (701 Main St, Bradley Beach NJ 07720), stating which organization you would like to volunteer for, and describe the qualifications and or abilities you would bring to the position. Thank you!
Shade Tree Commission — regulates trees on public property and seeks to replenish the borough’s tree stock throughout town.
Environmental Commission — established for the protection of the borough’s natural resources and open spaces.
Zoning Board of Adjustment — regulates applications seeking relief (variances) from existing zoning ordinances.
Planning Board — plans for the future of the town via the borough’s master plan, and is responsible for ensuring changes to current land use fit within the guidelines of the borough’s master plan.
Youth Advisory Board (ages 11 to 18) — advises Mayor on matters of interest to young people within the borough, and takes on projects that advance those interests.

Bradley Beach Office of Emergency Management
The Bradley Beach Office of Emergency Management in cooperation with the Monmouth County Division of Aging, Disability and Veterans’ Services is please to offer Register Ready Program.
The Register Ready Program allows our residents, who may require assistance in the case of an evacuation, to register for that help in advance. The reasons assistance may be required are many. It could be a disability, age, size, the need for use of medical equipment or the inability to speak or understand the English language.
Registration can be done online at www.registerready.nj.gov . Persons may also register by completing a registration form which can be obtained at the Bradley Beach Police Department, 701 Main Street, Bradley Beach, NJ 07720 or by calling 2-1-1.
Code/Construction Department Hours
Monday 9am-2pm and 4:30-7pm, Tuesday 9am-11am, Wednesday 9am-2pm and 4:30-7pm, Thursday CLOSED and Friday 9am-2pm.
The Bradley Beach Public Works Yard Recycling Facility is closed due to construction at the yard. Residents may take recycling materials to the Neptune Township facility located at 2201 Heck Avenue off of Neptune Boulevard in Neptune. Please bring proper identification (Drivers license or utility bill) as proper ID is mandatory.
Monmouth County Offers Computer and Electronics
Recycling at the Monmouth County Reclamation Center, 6000 Asbury Avenue, Gate A Main Entrance,Tinton Falls, NJ, Monmouth County Planning Board Phone # 732 431-7460 Monday through Friday 7:30am to 3:00pm, Saturday 7:30am to 2:00pm! Items accepted: Computer Cases, CPU’s, Keyboards, Mice, Monitors, Scanners, Printers, Cables, Laptops, Peripherals, Televisions - Residents only (No larger than 42″), Radios, Telephones, Cameras, VCR’s, DVD Players, and Stereo Components. Large TV’s and wood consoles are not accepted! The program is open to all Monmouth County residents, small businesses and institutions. Limited to one pickup truckload.
Emergency Notification System (aka “Reverse 911″)
The Borough is now using a new Emergency Notification System. This system allows residents to logon and add themselves to the system via your own computer. It allows people to add up to three phone numbers and two email addresses even if you think you are already listed, as the system recognizes duplications. Please note that you will need to “agree” to the terms and conditions before continuing you registration. Beach Visioning Discussion
Bradley Beach held an initial beach visioning public discussion on Tuesday, September 7, and is continuing to accept comments from the public. To add your comments or view others’ comments, please visit the web-based visioning system. To navigate around the visioning site, use the tabs you will see below the Bradley Beach postcard logo on the site. You can add comments by using the “Public Input Survey” tab, add your comments directly to points on the map, using the “Interactive Map” tab, or see pictures of the notes taken from the Sept. 7th meeting.
If you would like to add comments on the “Interactive Map,” click the log in button, use “bradleybeach” as both your user name and your password, click your mouse on the spot on the map where you would like to make a comment. When the box opens up, click on “Add new”, and a box will open up allowing you to enter your comments.

Open-flame cooking devices and outdoor fireplaces. Charcoal burners, other open-flame cooking devices and outdoor fireplaces shall not be operated or stored on combustible balconies or decks or within five (5) feet of combustible construction.
Bradley Beach Youth Advisory Board
The Youth Advisory Board is always accepting new members. If you are a Bradley Beach resident age 11 to 18, why not volunteer for the Youth Advisory Board? The Youth Advisory Board meets monthly, to advise the mayor about young residents’ concerns and goals for Bradley Beach. DISPATCH SHARED SERVICE STUDY NOW COMPLETE, AND AVAILABLE TO PUBLIC
The Dispatch Shared Service Study begun in the fall of 2009, under a SHARE grant from the state, is now complete, and concludes that consolidation of dispatch services would save area towns a great deal of money, while also freeing up police officers to spend more time on the road, patrolling.
